Remains of 500 horses discovered on property

The remains of over 500 horses have been discovered on a property in Australia. The police and authorities in New South Wales have launched an extensive investigation. 

The discovery site is near Wagga Wagga, around five hours' drive from Sydney.

Local residents complained about the stench
Local residents had complained about the stench emanating from the site. During initial investigations, the remains of horses were found in several places, which had apparently been dumped there over a long period of time.

Wagga Wagga City Council stated that some carcasses were skeletal remains, while others had been recently killed.

The carcasses were discovered in many different places on the property. It is believed to be more than 500.
