Anderson to star in ‘Naked Gun’ remake

Liam Neeson is getting female reinforcements for the planned remake of the "Naked Gun" blockbuster. Former "Baywatch" icon Pamela Anderson is joining the cast of the Paramount Pictures production, as reported by the "Hollywood Reporter", among others. 

Anderson posted one of the reports in an Instagram story. Paramount Pictures recently announced the film for July 2025.

Born in Northern Ireland, Neeson (71) will take on the role of the scatterbrained police officer Frank Drebin, who was once made famous by Leslie Nielsen, who died in 2010.

Anderson takes over Presley's role
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Anderson (56) is to play his beloved, a role that fell to Priscilla Presley in the original film series. The three "Naked Gun" comedies - "The Naked Gun", "The Naked Gun 21⁄2" and "The Naked Gun 331⁄3" - were released in cinemas between 1988 and 1994.

Former "Saturday Night Live" writer Akiva Schaffer ("Hot Rod") is responsible for the direction and screenplay for the remake. "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane is on board as producer.

"Baywatch" icon
Anderson became famous alongside David Hasselhoff in the 90s series "Baywatch" about lifeguards from Malibu. She has appeared in films such as "Barb Wire", "Scary Movie 3" and "Superhero Movie".

She also had a small role in the 2017 'Baywatch' movie with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. Most recently, she took part in the Netflix documentary "Pamela: A Love Story" (2023).
