After a few days
New Signa supervisory board members are already throwing in the towel
René Benko's bankrupt Signa Group is not emerging from the turbulence. As has now become known, entrepreneur Karin Exner-Wöhrer and real estate expert Michael Mitterdorfer have resigned from their new supervisory board mandates after just a few days. The reason they gave today was "different views on the organization of the work and tasks as Supervisory Board members" at Signa Development and Signa Prime.
"It is desirable, also with regard to the reputation of Austria as a business location, that the quota to creditors envisaged in the restructuring plans is achieved. We wish all those involved every success in this endeavor," said the two short-term Supervisory Board members in a press release on Tuesday morning.
"Comprehensible decision"
A spokesman for Signa Holding administrator Christof Stapf said today in response to an inquiry that the "understandable decision" was regrettable. Whether and, if so, how the two vacant Supervisory Board positions will be filled is a matter for the responsible bodies. Whether another extraordinary general meeting will now be convened remains open. Stapf is currently examining how to proceed.
The new Development and Prime board members were only presented last Friday. At Signa Development, real estate expert Markus Neurauter replaced the reorganizer Erhard Grossnigg, and Herwig Teufelsdorfer took over the management of Signa Prime. Both took up their new jobs immediately.
