Roma professional released from hospital after collapsing
Roma defender Evan Ndicka has been discharged from hospital and will undergo further examinations in Rome. The 24-year-old collapsed on Sunday during the subsequently abandoned match in Udine.
"In view of the latest tests carried out this morning, the medical situation is comparable to a chest trauma with minimal left pneumothorax," a club statement read. A heart condition was not diagnosed.
Match abandoned in minute 70
The match was abandoned on Sunday in the 70th minute with the score at 1-1. When the medical team arrived at the 24-year-old defender's side, he was conscious but in obvious pain and rubbing his chest with his right hand. He was then taken away on a stretcher.
After an interruption of around ten minutes, it was agreed that the game would not continue following a request from the Romans.
