The emotions from the Kulm ski flying event at the end of January, when Stefan Kraft of all people was able to hang World Cup gold around his neck, are unforgettable. However, fans will now have to wait longer for more such flying festivals in Bad Mitterndorf, Styria, as there will be no flying on the Kulm in 2025!

The Ski Flying World Championships in Bad Mitterndorf at the end of January with Stefan Kraft's home victory are still fondly remembered by the red-white-red fans. However, Kulm is not on the provisional World Cup calendar for the upcoming 2024/25 season! "We didn't apply for the January date. We don't have enough resources in the association in the run-up to the Alpine World Ski Championships," explains Neo Sports Director Mario Stecher. According to the ex-combined skier, there will be another flying event on the Styrian monster hill in the 2025/26 Olympic winter: "We want to have a World Cup right after the Games."

In Bad Mitterndorf, they have to take note of the decision. "Unfortunately! We were actually all expecting a jumping event in 2025, it was already planned," says Kulm press spokesman Werner Schrittwieser. "But then the ÖSV decided otherwise at very short notice." The fixed World Cup calendar should then be available on May 8 - but without Kulm flying. That won't happen again until 2026.
