Return of the "GOAT"
Brady comeback in the NFL? “Would not be averse”
Is the "GOAT" (Greatest of all time) returning to the NFL? In the "Deep Cut" podcast, the 46-year-old explained that he would not be averse to a comeback in the world's strongest football league.
When Brady was asked by presenter Vic Blends whether he would tie his shoes again if a quarterback were injured, the US American replied: "I don't know if they (the league, ed.) would let me do it if I became a franchise owner (Brady is being discussed as a shareholder in the Las Vegas Raiders). I'll always be in good shape, always be able to throw the ball. Maybe a little bit like Michael Jordan coming back ... I don't know if they'd let me, but I wouldn't be averse to it."
Comeback from the comeback
It wouldn't be the seven-time Super Bowl champion's first comeback. Just one month after Brady ended his career in February 2022, he returned to throw the ball for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for another season.
In February 2023, Brady declared that he would actually let it go this time. Whether he really meant it, however, is doubtful in light of his recent statements. Financially, the long-time quarterback of the New England Patriots would probably not need an active comeback. As an expert on Fox Sports, he is set to earn a whopping 350 million euros within ten years.
