Soccer instead of ATV
“Potschertes Leben” star keeps his fingers crossed for ex-club
He once attracted the TV cameras as a goal scorer in professional soccer, most recently he did so on ATV as the star of the series "Mei potschertes Leben!" Markus Hubich (50) is just as passionate about this as he is about the club close to his heart, playing at Innsbruck's Tivoli on Saturday.
Between "magic" and "potschert": That's Markus Hubich, who still enjoys cult status among FC Blau-Weiß supporters. Even though he is now 50, scored his last goal for the Stahlstadt club 20 years ago and has lived in Kitzbühel for years.
Where the ex-goal scorer has returned to the TV spotlight this year with a Batman disguise. Namely in the ATV series "Mei potschertes Leben!"
"It suits me too," explains the ex-professional honestly. The literal explanation:
... "My wife is gone!"
... "My child is gone!"
... "My house is gone!"
Donations for children
But "Magic Hubich" still has a big heart that beats for more than just FC Blau-Weiß. "With my costume, I mainly try to collect donations for children, do good and bring joy," says the man who once scored 34 times for Vorwärts Steyr, 24 times for FC Blau-Weiß Linz and 14 times for Admira Wacker - and who loved the character of "Batman" as a child. And who, in his bat disguise, was already behind the wheel in Tirol in his job as a bus driver.
In "civilian clothes" for the match
Today, Hubich wants to make the trip to Innsbruck, around 90 kilometers away from "Kitz", in "civilian clothes" if at all possible, in order to keep his fingers crossed for his Blue-Whites on site. "It's sure to be a great match - I hope the boys win," he said and announced: "And one day I'll come to the Donaupark Stadium in my Batman costume."
