Shots to calm you down
Diane Kruger is “not a fan of sex scenes”
Diane Kruger has developed a routine when shooting physically intimate scenes. She quickly learned that you "don't have to go one hundred percent" in love scenes to make it look real, she told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
The first kissing scene she had to play was under the direction of her then husband Guillaume Canet for "Bad, Bad Things" (2002) - "which was also a bit funny". Kruger, who comes from Germany, added: "But I'm generally not a fan of sex scenes in movies."
"Not really to be seen naked"
The 47-year-old can currently be seen in the erotic thriller "Visions" by Yann Gozlan, which has been available on DVD since Friday. In it, she plays a married pilot who meets a former lover. As her feelings become more and more intense, she has recurring visions and nightmares.
"With this movie, I pushed for us to shoot these scenes a certain way," Kruger said in reference to sex scenes in the movie.
"Don't need a shot anymore"
She continued: "I'm not really naked, for example, because I thought the movie was voyeuristic in those scenes anyway. There are two women being watched through a hole in the wall as they make love. Filmed by a male director. I didn't want to add a layer of voyeurism on top of that. That's unnecessary."
She used to drink a shot of whisky or vodka before filming such scenes. "But now it's no longer such an issue, I don't need the shot anymore."
