Packers and Eagles kick off NFL season in Sao Paulo
This year's international NFL games start in the first week - and for the first time, Brazil will host a game in the basic round! The opponents on September 6 at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo are the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to the NFL, the game will be the first ever to be played in South America and the first first-round game on a Friday night since 1970. Ricardo Nunes, the mayor of the metropolis of millions, said he was already looking forward to "a historic game that will give our city great worldwide attention".
As in 2023, a total of five games in the basic round of this year's "NFL International Games" will be played outside the USA. In addition to Sao Paulo, the venues include London, where three matches will take place, and Munich.
