Three ÖRV boats still hope to take part in the Olympics!
At the first Rowing World Cup of the season from Friday to Sunday in Varese, the course will be set for the possible Olympic participation of further Austrian boats!
So far, Magdalena Lobnig has qualified in the single scull, but she is worried about Paris due to a herniated disc in her cervical spine.
"It's not an easy task, but it's doable!"
Louisa Altenhuber and Lara Tiefenthaler are completing a test run in the LG double sculls for the European qualifying regatta as part of the European Championships in Szeged at the end of April. "They want to qualify for the Olympics and we are optimistic that they will make it, it's not an easy task, but a doable one," said ÖRV national coach Robert Sens.
In the men's double sculls it will be decided in Italy whether Lukas Reim/Julian Schöberl or Konrad Hultsch/Paul Ruttmann will be allowed to tackle the qualification in Hungary. The ÖRV eight will compete against the international competition in Varese in preparation for the Olympic quota regatta in Lucerne in May.
