VSV cracks before departure
“We certainly won’t be intimidated”
Despite a 2:1 lead in the final series, KAC boss Oliver Pilloni remains cautious. To the surprise of some experts, the KAC is also keeping up with Salzburg in terms of fighting. And Herburger and Co. are also in great form at the face-off. Meanwhile, two departures are looming at VSV. .
Skin tight! That's the perfect description of the final between KAC and Salzburg. Even after the 4:2, which gave Red a 2:1 lead in the series, boss Oliver Pilloni remains cautious. "It's a duel at eye level. The game could have tipped over in the end. But I was impressed by the way we came back after going 2-0 down in the second period. What's important now is that we're ready from the start." In game two in Salzburg, Red was also 1:0 down, but turned it around to win 5:2.
"I'm really proud of my team"
The Red Jackets are biting into the Bulls more and more! It's well known that they are technically good and have great skaters in their ranks, but the fact that they can also keep up with the Bulls in terms of fighting is surprising. Pilloni: "I'm really proud of my team. Nobody thought we could do that. I like the way the lads are holding their own and not letting them get the better of us. That will also be the key later on."
Extremely poisonous Red Jackets
Finishing off the checks, venomous, pressing! That also worked perfectly in the 4:2 - each of the 18 KAC cracks had a positive duel balance against the often overly tough Bulls: Jesper Jensen Aabo and Paul Postma stand out. They each won a puck eight times (!) when Salzburg had possession, followed by Lukas Haudum with six. "We certainly won't be intimidated. Every one of us is giving it our all. We know that it's all about the collective," says Manuel Ganahl.
The bullying record was also impressive! Raphael Herburger won an incredible 13 out of 15 duels, Jan Mursak 15 out of 18 and Daniel Obersteiner six out of eleven. In total, KAC won an impressive 43 of 67, which makes 64 percent - top. Just like the powerplay recently - two goals in the 5:2 win away, two now in the 4:2.
VSV cracks before Ljubljana commitment
The Slovenians Sabolic and Tomazevic have been very disappointing for VSV this year! They are no longer needed on the Drava! Tomazevic is said to have almost reached an agreement with Olimpija Ljubljana, Sabolic has been offered a contract by Ljubljana, who want to make a big upgrade next year.
