Boy (16) dies in hospital after being electrocuted

The 16-year-old boy from Vienna, who climbed onto a train with four other teenagers in a daring act at the end of March, has now died in hospital from severe burn injuries.

The four teenagers had climbed onto a parked train in Penzing on March 25. The 16-year-old slipped and fell into the high-voltage power line. The injured man was immediately flown to hospital by rescue helicopter and his life was in danger for a long time. 

The sad news came on Wednesday: the teenager died of his serious injuries a few days ago in the General Hospital.

"Strictly forbidden and life-threatening"
Shortly after the tragic incident, ÖBB pointed out that every accident is "one too many", but that unauthorized access to the facilities is "strictly forbidden and life-threatening".
