Motorcyclist collided with street lamp

On Monday late afternoon, a 66-year-old man from Switzerland was riding his motorcycle on the Lustenauerstraße (L204) in Dornbirn in the direction of Lustenau. Due to sudden dizziness, he started to lurch and touched the edge of the sidewalk.

The Swiss rider then lost control of the touring motorcycle, which weighed approx. 340 kg. He drove over the sidewalk and collided with the pole of a street lamp. The motorcycle tipped over and the rider fell to the ground, causing serious leg injuries.

After initial treatment by the ambulance and emergency medical services, he was taken to Dornbirn hospital. The badly damaged motorcycle was transported away by the breakdown service.
