Moped rider (15) crashed into car: seriously injured

Serious moped accident on Sunday afternoon in Absam, Tyrol (Innsbruck-Land district): A 15-year-old crashed his moped head-on into an oncoming car. He and his passenger (16) were seriously injured.

The teenager was driving his moped eastbound on Dörferstraße shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday. His 16-year-old companion was sitting on the pillion. At the junction with Nuelweg, the 15-year-old hit the edge of the sidewalk, causing him to lose control of the moped. As a result, he crashed head-on into an oncoming car driven by a 43-year-old local man.

Although the man had already stopped the car, the moped rider was seriously injured in the accident. He was taken to hospital in Hall in Tirol, as was his slightly injured passenger.
