Serious fan riots before the capital derby in Rome!

There were riots on Saturday before the capital derby in the Italian soccer league between AS Roma and Lazio Rome! 

Several hours before kick-off at 6 p.m., hundreds of supporters of the two teams clashed near the Olympic Stadium. The police used tear gas to separate the rioters. According to the police, at least one hooligan was arrested.

According to initial investigations, the riots were started by around 200 Lazio fans who approached a pub where Roma supporters traditionally gather. There are always clashes at matches between the two Roman clubs.

Hooligans on the Lazio side make no secret of their fascist leanings. Before the recent Champions League round of 16 defeat to Bayern Munich, Lazio fans also gave the Hitler salute in the Hofbräuhaus.

Before the derby, flyers featuring the two dictators Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini with a concentration camp prisoner in Roma colors in the middle were circulated.
