Bomb attacks on Jehovah’s Witnesses are connected

New details in the investigation into the bomb found near a Jehovah's Witness building in Kalsdorf, Styria, on Friday, March 29: The crime is linked to two explosive devices that were attached to two cars in Leibnitz in August 2023.

The Jehovah's Witnesses in Kalsdorf near Graz had to endure anxious hours on Good Friday and Saturday: a suspicious package was left in the entrance area of the Kingdom Hall. A major alarm was sounded, the area cordoned off and around 50 residents evacuated. Even after initial inspections, it could not be ruled out that it was a bomb.

Heavy equipment was used to remove the package, and on Saturday afternoon the defusing service announced that it was indeed a live bomb.

The incident was preceded by two detonations of explosive devices on cars in Leibnitz in August 2023. They were also aimed at Jehovah's Witnesses, fortunately no one was injured.

Concrete leads
Investigations are in full swing in both cases. What observers suspected has now been revealed: The bombs were built in a similar way. The exact details are not being made public for investigative reasons.
