Drunk driver tried to hide in a creek bed

In Vorarlberg, a drunk driver tried to hide from the police in a creek bed on Saturday evening. He had previously overturned his off-road vehicle. A local resident saw the accident and called the emergency services.

He also helped the injured 53-year-old out of the car. However, he fled into a stream bed. The police, who arrived shortly afterwards, found him and carried out a breathalyzer test, which revealed that he was heavily intoxicated. There were still several beer cans in the car.

The accident happened at around 6 p.m. on Ebniterstrasse in the direction of Ebnit. The vehicle was a total loss. The man was injured and taken to Dornbirn hospital.
