Hospital patient found just before dark

It may already be spring-like during the day, but the temperatures are still plummeting at night. There was great concern for an elderly hospital patient from Rohrbach in Upper Austria who had gone missing. A major search operation was launched and then, at dusk, the reassuring news.

An 87-year-old patient disappeared from Rohrbach hospital in the afternoon without a trace. The senior citizen suffers from dementia and had lost her way; an internal search in the hospital was unsuccessful. A doctor alerted the police who, together with search dogs, Red Cross and fire department helpers and the support of the police helicopter, launched a major operation.

She walked three kilometers
After almost two hours, shortly before nightfall, the crew of a Red Cross car discovered the woman from Mühlviertel, almost three kilometers from the hospital. She is safe and sound.
