German Bundesliga
Werder Bremen v Wolfsburg – LIVE from 3.30pm
Ralph Hasenhüttl has celebrated a successful debut as coach of VfL Wolfsburg in Germany's Bundesliga!
The "Wolves" won 2:0 away at Werder Bremen on Saturday. Hasenhüttl helped Wolfsburg to their first three-pointer after eleven games without a win.
The former Leipzig and Southampton coach had to make his debut without Patrick Wimmer, who was suspended for red, and Pavao Pervan replaced the injured Koen Casteels in goal for the Wolves. Bremen captain Marco Friedl made his comeback from injury.
A manageable first half ended in a decisive manner. First, Bremen's Anthony Jung was sent off for an emergency brake, then Maxence Lacroix scored from a corner deep into stoppage time to give Wolfsburg the lead (45.+4).
The goalscorer was also sent off after a controversial emergency brake on Romano Schmid at the start of the final quarter of an hour (76'), but Lovro Majer made everything clear for Wolfsburg (84'). Wolfsburg extended the gap to the relegation places to eight points.
