3-1 win over Sharks
Minnesota keeps its mini-chance of a play-off spot alive
The Minnesota Wild with Marco Rossi from Vorarlberg have kept their small hope of a play-off place in the North American ice hockey league NHL alive with a win against the bottom of the table San Jose Sharks. Minnesota won 3:1 at home on Thursday (local time), Rossi remained scoreless this time after his brace in the 4:5 defeat against the St. Louis Blues. The 22-year-old was on the ice for 18:10 minutes and fired three shots.
The Wild goals were scored by Joel Eriksson Ek (17th) with his 30th goal of the season, Matt Boldy (41st) and Ryan Hartman (60th/empty net). Mikael Granlund (30) had equalized for the Sharks, who suffered their ninth defeat in a row.
Trembling for play-off participation
Minnesota remains in tenth place in the Western Conference and would have to overtake two teams in the remaining ten games to make the play-offs. Rossi and Co. are eight points behind the Los Angeles Kings, while St. Louis has a three-point lead over Minnesota with one more game to play.
