Two years in prison
Man (28) removed and stole car tires
A 28-year-old Pole had his sights set on complete car tires: He stole tires worth a total of 88,000 euros from various car dealerships. The accused confessed at the trial in Linz. He received a two-year prison sentence.
The accused was accused of dismantling and stealing complete car wheels from several car dealerships in Upper Austria, Lower Austria and Styria in order to sell them more cheaply in his home country. He fully confessed at the trial: "I know it was stupid."
Debt as the reason
He cited his debts of 20,000 euros as the reason for the thefts: "My many debts went over my head. I wanted to pay them off as quickly as possible because people were already putting pressure on me."
Already a criminal record
The accused already has several previous convictions. Among other things, for multiple thefts and intentional damage to property. He had already been imprisoned in Poland for 1 year and 4 months. However, he showed remorse at the trial: "I've had enough of prison. After I've served my sentence, I want to start a new life with an honest job."
The 28-year-old was sentenced to two years' unconditional imprisonment. The sentence is already final.
