Guest as lifesaver

A family experienced dramatic minutes on Tuesday morning in a hotel in Achenkirch in Tyrol. Their two-year-old daughter had fallen into the hotel pool and was floating motionless in the water. An attentive guest became a lifesaver. 

It's every parent's nightmare: a child falls into the water in an unobserved moment. This is probably what happened on Tuesday morning at the accommodation facility on Lake Achensee. According to police investigations, the child was playing near the pool. The girl probably slipped and fell into the 1.5 meter deep pool.

First aid measures by parents
The child was floating motionless in the water when she was noticed a short time later by a guest. The guest reacted immediately, jumped into the pool and pulled the girl out of the water. The child's parents immediately began first aid measures. A short time later, the two-year-old was conscious and responsive again. The child was taken to the hospital in Innsbruck by rescue helicopter.
