Loves his new role
Frenchman after leaving Bayern: “I’m happy”
Benjamin Pavard left Munich last summer to join Inter Milan and is now "very happy" about it. His new role as a central defender was the main reason for the move.
At Bayern, Pavard usually had to play at right-back. Although the Frenchman enjoyed his time in Munich, he saw himself more in the position of central defender. However, Munich did not want him there, which is why he decided to make the switch.
A "better player"
"The role in central defense suits me best. And that's exactly why I left Bayern Munich, so that I could play as a central defender," the 27-year-old told Telefoot. That's why he became a "better player" again in Milan.
Under coach Simone Inzaghi, he has already played 25 times this season as a central defender in the back three: "I'm very happy, I've discovered a wonderful country where the fans are incredible. The passion of the fans in Italy is incredible, it's wonderful for me."
