21-year-old fell six meters from the roof of a house

A serious accident at work occurred on Monday afternoon in the Zillertal in Tyrol. The victim was a 21-year-old who was working on a roof truss. Despite safety precautions, the young man fell from the roof of the house. 

The accident occurred at around 1.30 p.m. in the municipality of Mayrhofen. The 21-year-old Austrian was standing on the roof truss of the house and probably slipped. As a result, he fell into a safety device that was mounted on the roof truss.

Impact on the asphalt
But the young man was particularly unlucky. A wooden rafter of the safety device broke and the 21-year-old subsequently fell six meters from the roof. He crashed onto an asphalt road. After first aid, the seriously injured man was flown to Schwaz Hospital by emergency helicopter.
