Web crook relieved seller of thousands of euros

A German man (49) living in the Tyrolean lowlands actually wanted to sell clothes online and earn some money. But now he is almost 10,000 euros poorer. The man was targeted by an online fraudster.

The 49-year-old from Brixen im Thale (Kitzbühel district) had offered clothes for sale on an online platform. Last Saturday, a supposed potential buyer finally contacted the German.

It was about an item of clothing for which the seller wanted just a few euros.

High four-digit amount lost
In the course of the transaction, the stranger finally managed to elicit the 49-year-old's credit card details. Transactions were then carried out. All in all, the victim suffered a loss amounting to a high four-digit euro sum.
