New initiative
Delivery zones are now becoming electric charging zones
Charging zones bother many people: But without them, many parking spaces would be permanently occupied by delivery services. Now there is a possible solution.
More and more companies are opting for an electric fleet. Standing times are not welcome. The situation is somewhat different if they can be used for "refueling". The Chamber of Commerce thought the same thing and got Wien Energie on board. The result: a year ago, charging stations were installed in three charging zones for test purposes. Here, suppliers can hook up their e-cars for charging.
But private individuals also benefit: This is because the charging station is located at the end of the charging zone and has two connections. On one side, commercial traffic can charge "twice", while private cars can charge on the other side.
Davor Sertic, head of the WKW division: "This allows us to use existing spaces more efficiently without destroying a large number of parking spaces." The project is therefore now to be implemented on a large scale. Charging zone pioneer Savas Yildirim from Stolex: "We don't have any company premises where we could install our own charging points. This saves us time and money. I can recommend every business owner to also apply for a charging station in their charging zone." More companies are now being sought.
