Meinl-Reisinger wants to be the pink top candidate
As expected, NEOS leader Beate Meinl-Reisinger is running as the Pink Party's top candidate for the National Council elections.
"I am ready to lead NEOS into the next government as the top candidate," Meinl-Reisinger declared on Saturday in a video that was distributed via social media. The NEOS have a three-stage process for drawing up their list of candidates.
Members' meeting on April 20
For the National Council election list, the Pinks are holding public primaries from April 4 to 13, then the extended board will meet and finally a general meeting will take place on April 20 in Graz.
"I am ready"
Meinl-Reisinger referred in the video to crises, wars, the pandemic, cases of corruption and inflation, saying that basic trust in a good future had been put to the test recently. The other parties were using their energy to "mainly fight each other instead of finding positive solutions for the people", she complained.
"We NEOS are ready, and I am ready," she said, "we are the guarantee that the next government will have the energy to make people's lives better."
In the last National Council election in 2019, the NEOS achieved 8.1 percent of the vote or 15 seats. This time, the Pinks are hoping for around ten percent or 20 seats.
