At 230 km/h on the Westautobahn, then the luxury BMW was gone: the vehicle of a 36-year-old speeding driver is the first to be confiscated by the authorities in Upper Austria. But the motorists' clubs are rather skeptical as to whether the tough law will achieve its goal. Their arguments differ, however.

A first place to be proud of: A 36-year-old man had his BMW "plucked" at the Allhaming rest area after previously speeding along the Westautobahn at 230 km/h, 223 minus the measurement tolerance. As reported, this makes the Serbian the first driver in Upper Austria to have his vehicle confiscated under the new, stricter rules.
