Cornelia Hütter has missed out on winning the small crystal globe in the super-G. The Styrian would have had to score 70 points more than Lara Gut-Behrami in the World Cup final in Saalbach to take the title from the Swiss. However, a slip-up in her right turn put paid to the 31-year-old's hopes.

Hütter got off to a good start in the race and was only just behind Ester Ledecka's best time in the intermediate times. Shortly before the final section, however, the ÖSV athlete briefly lost her balance and her pole slipped from her wrist towards her shoulder.

Hütter lost important hundredths of a second as a result of the small slip-up, which she probably lacked at the finish to take the lead. As Federica Brignone also missed the jump to the top, Lara Gut-Behrami can now look forward to the super-G crystal as well as the big crystal globe and the small one in the giant slalom.
