Max Verstappen is not only currently the best Formula 1 driver, he is also a driver who doesn't mince his words. The Dutchman blew his top several times at the season opener in Melbourne.
Trouble for Max Verstappen! The Red Bull star was stuck in traffic several times in the first and second practice sessions on Friday. "I think the Mercedes driver in front of me is drinking a damn coffee," Verstappen grumbled over the pit radio during his start practice.
But that was not the only outburst of anger from the Formula 1 maestro. After being held up by Sauber driver Zhou Guanyu, the three-time world champion followed up with a few expletives.
"What's he doing?"
A little later, Verstappen was also slowed down by Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll. "What is he doing? Oh my God," Verstappen shook his head. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc ultimately snatched the best time of the day in practice. The Monegasque was 0.381 seconds faster than Verstappen in the second session.
Verstappen is set for his tenth consecutive victory of the season on Sunday (5 a.m. /live in the sportkrone.at ticker). If the Dutchman also finishes in first place in Australia, he will have equaled his own Formula 1 record from the previous season.
