Youngest was only 11!
Boys arrested by the FBI after bank robbery
An unusual bank robbery has taken place in the US state of Texas: The youngest suspect arrested by the FBI is only eleven years old. The name used by the investigators when they published pictures of the perpetrators was also bizarre: They referred to them as "little rascals" in the post.
The two other suspects are twelve and 16 years old. The office of the US Federal Police in Houston stated on X that the trio had committed a "robbery with threats". The minors, whose names were not released due to their age, were taken into custody on Tuesday.
Investigators used these images to search for the trio:
The FBI had published a photo of the suspects after the bank robbery on March 14 and wrote: "Recognize these little rascals? Believe it or not, they just robbed the Wells Fargo Bank." The term "little rascals" probably refers to a TV series from the USA, "The Little Rascals" in English.
Parents recognized suspects and reported them
Local television station KTRK reported, citing Harris County police, that the children had handed a bank employee a "threatening message" and then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Two of the boys, who were not wearing masks during the robbery, were recognized by their parents and reported to the police.
