Minnesota shortens gap to play-off places
Minnesota Wild has further reduced the gap to the play-off places in the North American ice hockey league NHL with the Vorarlberg forward Marco Rossi. The Wild celebrated a 4-0 win at the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday, taking 14 of a possible 16 points from their last eight games.
Kirill Kaprisov scored to make it 3-0 (32./PP) and now has his 36th goal of the season and 150 NHL goals. The Russian forward has needed 265 games to reach 150 goals.
Of the active players, only Auston Matthews (223 games), Alexander Ovechkin (234) and Steven Stamkos (245) have reached this mark faster.
Tight starting position for promotion
With the Vegas Golden Knights losing 5-3 to the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Wild, who are ninth in the Western Conference, are just three points behind the Las Vegas team, who currently hold the eighth and final promotion spot. Minnesota visit the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday, who have a five-point lead over Rossi and Co. After that, Minnesota has six home games.
