Salzburg’s roads will be full at the weekend

On Friday and Saturday, a lot of patience is required again in Salzburg and on the freeways: not only Austria is starting the Easter vacations, but the vacations are also beginning in eleven federal states in neighboring Germany. Hours of delays are to be expected.

The big start to the Easter vacations will take place on the coming Palm weekend. In addition to Austria, the up to two-week school vacation will also begin in eleven German federal states.

The first wave of travelers is expected on Friday afternoon. Patience will then be required in Salzburg on city exits such as Münchner Straße, Sterneckstraße, Vogelweiderstraße and Innsbrucker Bundesstraße.

On Saturday, which is usually the busiest travel day, the journey starts in the morning. A time loss of more than an hour in both directions before the roadworks between Golling and Werfen on the Tauernautobahn (A10) is almost certain. Patience is also required on the Westautobahn (A1) in the greater Salzburg area and especially before the Walserberg border crossing.
