Skier lying motionless on the piste in Ischgl
A 62-year-old German skier caused a stir on Friday afternoon when she was left lying on the ground after a fall. An unknown winter sports enthusiast saw the woman and alerted the piste rescue service. The police are now looking for the skier and witnesses to the accident.
The German woman was skiing in the Ischgl ski area shortly before 4 pm. In the area below the Flimjochbahn, in the immediate vicinity of the busy Höllbodenbahn, the woman is believed to have fallen for unknown reasons. She then remained motionless on the slope.
An unknown skier then informed the piste rescue service. They treated the seriously injured woman. She was flown to the hospital in Innsbruck by emergency helicopter.
According to the Alpine Police, no witnesses could be found. The person who reported the accident has also not yet been identified.
