NATO chief appeals
Stoltenberg: Ukraine is running out of ammunition
According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Ukraine urgently needs more ammunition. More than two years after the start of the Russian invasion, the country is not running out of courage, but ammunition. It would be a "grave historical mistake to let Putin win".
"All allies must dig deep into their pockets and deliver quickly," Stoltenberg demanded. He referred to a NATO survey, according to which two thirds of the population of the member states were in favor of continuing to support Ukraine.
"Question of politicalwill"
It is urgently necessary for the NATO allies to intensify the supply of ammunition and weapons to Ukraine. "It is a question of political will to make the decisions."
Daily consequences on the battlefield
Every day of delay has consequences on the battlefield. "This is a decisive moment," Stoltenberg added. "It would be a grave historical mistake to let Putin win."
Authoritarian leaders like the Kremlin chief must not be allowed to impose their will by force: "That would be dangerous for all of us."
With regard to the presidential election in Russia, which begins on Friday, Stoltenberg says that any attempt to hold the vote in the annexed territories of Ukraine would be completely illegal. Russia has announced that it will hold elections there.
