AUA passengers must once again prepare for flight cancellations. More than 100 Austrian Airlines flights will be canceled on Thursday due to a works meeting of the flying personnel. 12,000 affected passengers have been informed and rebooked if necessary.

The AUA flight schedule for Thursday originally included 300 flights, 120 of which are currently canceled. The reason for the works meeting is the faltering collective agreement negotiations with the AUA on-board staff.

The ideas for a salary increase differ massively between the employer and employee sides. The employers are offering an increase of 4.5 percent and are also holding out the prospect of more if the agreement is extended. The union, on the other hand, is demanding a 30 percent pay rise and more vacation.

As a result of the works meeting announced for last Friday and then postponed, the company has suffered a loss of around four million euros, the airline announced.

The airline had to cancel 150 flights and 12,800 passengers were affected. At the works meeting on March 1, 112 flights were canceled and around 12,000 passengers were affected.
