288 speeders caught on the B145 in just eight hours

"Lead Feet Day" in the district of Gmunden: When the police take a closer look, it rings a bell in the state coffers - 288 speeders were caught within eight hours on Tuesday during priority checks on the B145.

In the district of Gmunden, priority checks were carried out on the B145 on Tuesday. In order to avoid accidents, the speed was reduced in the immediate vicinity of the checkpoint; the speed limit was monitored by the Upper Austrian traffic department.

66 violations
Between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., 288 speeding violations were recorded. During the technical inspections, 66 violations were detected due to technical defects or technical modifications, whereby the license plates of one car had to be removed due to imminent danger.

Articulated lorry had eleven defects
A total of eleven technical defects were found on one articulated lorry, with the license plates on the towing vehicle and trailer having to be removed due to imminent danger. A further 25 infringements were found when the truck driver's driving and rest periods were checked.
