“What has been doctored around before?”
Wild speculation about Princess Kate's state of health has been rampant for weeks. A photo now published by the palace is supposed to signal that Everything is okay. Shortly afterwards, however, agencies recalled the picture because it had been manipulated. "You naturally ask yourself what has been tampered with before," says British-born Crown journalist Mark Perry.
In general, Perry interprets the picture as a signal that the palace wanted to send: "Look, I still exist, I care about the children." The palace now needs more stability: Harry keeps interfering from America, King Charles is very ill and there are always new scandals surrounding Prince Andrew, according to Perry.
"I would play with open cards now"
In general, Kate is a competent monarch, according to Perry. Even the "wonder weapon of the royals." "There were never any complaints". And: "England and the world also have other problems. Nothing has happened." But of course rumors are now circulating: "It would probably have been better if they hadn't posted the photo. I would play with open cards now. But we will weather the storm."
