Hackers tried their luck with provincial insurance

Since the hacker attack on the state of Carinthia in the summer of 2022, local IT experts have been particularly vigilant. Perhaps this is why the attack on the Carinthian provincial insurance company was quickly detected on Saturday.

On Saturday, the alarm bells suddenly rang in the insurance company's warning system - a professional cyber attack was underway. Internal and external experts immediately took action and were able to quickly bring the situation under control. "The attack was largely averted," says KLV reassuringly.

From today's perspective, customer data "was not affected by the attack". The IT systems were then checked again on Monday, so there may be short-term delays.
