Graz café searches for ‘lost’ giraffe

The owners of Café Promenade in Graz have put out an unusual appeal on Instagram: the giraffe belonging to the café has "escaped". They are now appealing to the thieves of the large figure to come forward and are asking for information from the public.

"WANTED giraffe escaped" - this is what the owners of Café Promenade in Graz announced on Instagram on Saturday, causing both smiles and head shaking in the online community. Because the giraffe - see photo below - is unlikely to have taken off on its own, but rather fallen victim to thieves. 

The thieves were apparently spotted with the chunky figure in Zinzendorfgasse at around 9.30 p.m. on Thursday. The suspicion naturally arises that these were not typical criminals, but a spontaneous action after a night out.

Accordingly, the owners of the café are being lenient: "If the perpetrators come forward voluntarily, no legal action will be taken," they write in their "wanted poster" on Instagram.
