Bloody knife attack in broad daylight in Vienna

Despite being stabbed, a 24-year-old man met up with his girlfriend in Vienna-Favoriten on Friday. The 21-year-old immediately alerted the police. So far there is no trace of the attacker.

According to the police, the knife attack took place in the middle of the day on Keplerplatz. There, an acquaintance is said to have stabbed the 24-year-old after an argument between the two escalated. The suspect then fled the scene.

Investigation underway
The young man was treated by the emergency services and taken to hospital. A search for the suspect was unsuccessful for the time being.

Similar case in Brigittenau
A similar case also occurred on the same day in Brigittenau. A 28-year-old man went to the accident hospital with an abdominal stab wound. According to the attending staff, who informed the police, the patient's life was in danger at the time. After emergency surgery, however, the man was on the road to recovery.

The injury was probably caused by a sharp object. The 28-year-old did not want to say how this happened for the time being. The State Office of Criminal Investigation is investigating both cases.
