Bregenz want to keep their record positive

The team from Lake Constance welcome Liefering today (18.10). And the Red Bull Salzburg professionals want to prevent them from playing in their own stadium. Coach Markus Mader will have to do without captain Ivo Kralj, whose ligaments are not yet fully healed.

Bregenz's recent away win in Kapfenberg has put their spring record back on a positive footing, with coach Markus Mader and his team having recorded two wins and one defeat so far. And the recent game at KSV has given Bregenz a boost. "The players are now starting to know what the coach wants from them," says sporting director Predrag Zivanovic, "and they're putting it into practice on the pitch."

And the provincial capital team want to prove this again in today's home game against Liefering. Although they are expecting a very dangerous opponent in the form of the young bulls. "You can't let them play," says Zivanovic, "they are all very strong individual players at the top level. There will probably be 20 scouts in the stadium looking at their feet."

Nevertheless, Black & White want to keep the three points at home, which is a must against the fourth-last team in the league, at least in terms of the table. "We won't be playing lightly. But we're really looking forward to the game," says Zivanovic.

Ligaments not yet healed
Bregenz only have a few absentees to contend with. Captain Ivo Kralj's ligament injury has not yet healed and he will be missing against Liefering at least. Matheus Favali tweaked his thigh in training and the Brazilian will also not be on the match report.
