Avalanche in Kleinwalsertal
On Thursday morning, a ski tourer observed an avalanche in Kleinwalsertal (Vorarlberg). The mountain rescue team was called out for safety.
An avalanche occurred on the 1982-metre-high "Steinmandl" in Kleinwalsertal on Thursday morning. A ski tourer observed the avalanche at 9.20 am and reported it to the emergency services. As it was not clear at the time whether anyone might have been buried under the masses of snow, the mountain rescue team was deployed.
Search for safety
Fortunately, after a safety search, the all-clear was given - no one had been buried by the avalanche. Apparently it was a so-called spontaneous triggering without human intervention. In addition to the mountain rescue team, the Riezlern fire department, the Alpine police and a rescue helicopter were also deployed.
