Road accident with company car while intoxicated

There was a crash in the Innviertel region on Wednesday evening: two vehicles crashed head-on into each other on a main road. Both drivers suffered injuries and their vehicles were completely destroyed. One of them was driving a company car and had plenty of alcohol in his tank.

At around 7 p.m., a 37-year-old man from the district of Schärding was driving his company car on the B 136 main road coming from St. Aegidi in the direction of Schärding. He suddenly collided with an oncoming car driven by a 24-year-old woman, also a local resident. 

Both suffered injuries in the collision and had to be taken to hospital. Alcohol tests were carried out beforehand: The 24-year-old tested negative, but the 37-year-old tested positive: almost 1.7 per mille. Both vehicles were totaled.
