Another wave of fraud
Telephone fraudsters are up to mischief in the Schwaz area
Once again the police are warning of a new wave of fraud! This time, fraudsters are trying to deceive victims from the Schwaz area. The police warn against handing over valuables to false officials.
Be careful when the phone rings in the Schwaz district and an unknown number appears on the display. This could be a scammer, as the police warn: "There are currently scam calls in the district/area of Schwaz. Fraudsters pretend to be police officers or detectives on the phone and try to lure out cash and valuables."
Several regions already targeted
This is not the first wave of fraudsters. Back in February, fraudsters targeted the Innsbruck area, and weeks earlier the crooks were active in the region around Wattens.
Tips from the real law enforcement agency
Due to the wave of fraud, the police are once again giving the following tips, which should already be well known:
- Ignore such calls, break off the calls.
- Do not respond to any demands for money.
- Notify the police.
