"That's wrong"
Bayern’s Harry Kane exposes TV pundits as liars
Harry Kane not only fired FC Bayern Munich into the Champions League quarter-finals with a brace on Tuesday evening, he also made people laugh. The reason: after the 3:0 win against Lazio Roma, he uncovered a lie by former professional and TV pundit Jamie Carragher.
The backstory: Jamie Carragher claimed in the run-up to the game that he had spoken to Harry Kane on the phone a few days ago. Kate Abdo, star presenter of CBS, therefore asked Kane after the game: "Before we do anything else, let's clear this up, because Jamie said earlier in the run-up to the game that he called you and spoke to you this week. Is that true or false?"
The Englishman's cool answer: "It's false." With this, Kane caused laughter in the TV studio. Carragher also grinned: "Harry, don't do this to me! I tell everyone in America that we're friends, that we have a great relationship. I can't believe you've just done this to me!" In response, Kane said: "We're friends, but I'm not going to lie on national television."
"The truth always comes out"
The 30-year-old is not only ice-cold in front of the opposing goal. A short time later, Kane apologized to Carragher via Twitter: "Sorry, the truth always comes out." And added three smiley faces. Carragher commented on the post: "Sorry Harry, I was trying to impress our American viewers."
