ManCity fan Gallagher:
Klopp? “F*** him, he’s not my coach”
On social media, singer and Manchester City fan Liam Gallagher (51) can't help but make jabs at soccer coach Jürgen Klopp and his Liverpool FC. "Fuck him, he's not my coach," said the ex-Oasis frontman. "I don't give a fuck whether he stays or goes."
Gallagher had previously angered Liverpool fans with a post on X (formerly Twitter). With regard to Klopp's announcement that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season, he wrote "Good riddance", which translates as: "Good riddance." Gallagher was amused by the reactions. "All the Liverpool fans started crying. But I could have said a lot worse."
Nevertheless, there was praise for Klopp. The German is "undoubtedly a great coach" and has made a big difference at Liverpool, said Gallagher. "He is a personality and the Premier League will miss him."
"Don't stop crying"
At the same time, the musician expressed the hope that coach Pep Guardiola would stay in Manchester for a long time to come. "Pep Guardiola is God," says Gallagher. If the coach were to retire one day, it would be a sad day. "But you know what? Unlike the Scousers (Liverpool fans), we Mancs (Manchester fans) won't cry much. We'll celebrate it and just get on with it. Then we'll get another coach. That's life. But they won't stop crying in Liverpool."
