Devils coach Lindy Ruff has to pack his bags

After five defeats in their last seven games in the National Hockey League (NHL), the New Jersey Devils have parted ways with coach Lindy Ruff. The 64-year-old, who has been coaching Thomas Vanek in Buffalo for many years since February, had been in charge since July 2020.

After 61 games with 30 wins and 31 defeats, the Devils are currently outside the play-off places. Canadian Travis Green is now set to turn things around as interim coach.

The Florida Panthers came out on top in an Eastern Conference clash with the New York Rangers 4:2 to record their fifth win in a row. Alexander Nylander scored three times in a game for the first time in his career in the Columbus Blue Jackets' 6-3 win over the Vegas Golden Knights.
