Sofia Polcanova leaves champions Linz-Froschberg

After more than a decade and a half of working together, Sofia Polcanova and table tennis champion Linz AG Froschberg are parting ways at the end of the season. The club announced this on Monday.

"We were already informed at the end of 2023. We would have liked to continue with her, but everything is fine," said club manager Robert Renner.

Born in Moldova, she has played for Linz since 2008 and was naturalized in 2010. Polcanova wants to say goodbye to Linz-Froschberg with another championship title and then focus entirely on international tournaments. "The number of tournaments has increased so much and become so unpredictable that it's almost impossible to schedule quality appearances in club competitions," said Renner, explaining her decision to part ways with the 29-year-old 2022 European champion.
