Fierce criticism from Horner
Verstappen’s dad sounds the alarm: “Will explode”
Jos Verstappen has made an unusually offensive statement against Red Bull team boss Christian Horner. The father of world champion Max Verstappen sees tensions within the racing team. He is sounding the alarm and calling for solutions. Meanwhile, Horner himself has also spoken out.
"The team is in danger of being torn apart. It can't go on like this. It will explode. He is playing the victim, but he is the one causing the problems," Verstappen told the Daily Mail. These are unusually offensive words from the Dutchman.
So far, neither dad Jos nor son Max have been so publicly critical of the Briton. The racing team itself repeatedly emphasizes that the Horner case is not an internal issue and does not cause any problems.
Horner speaks out
Verstappen, however, sees things very differently: "As long as he is in office, there will be tension here." A clear statement from the 51-year-old! And just a few hours after the Red Bull double victory at the start of the season.
Horner himself was asked about the situation after the race and explained: "I have received tremendous support within the team and the company." He also wants to remain Team Principal: "My focus is on the coming season and the races that lie ahead of us."
